WATCH FOR OUR BUILDING PRODUCT SERIES

K-Con participates in a dozen or so tradeshows a year. All of these shows are geared to particular government agencies or branches of the military who have a need for building solutions. And although we've been in business for over two decades, we inevitably get the comment "K-Con...I've heard of you, but I didn't know you did that!" So in order to dispel any rumors about just what we do, look for a series on this blog about some of the lesser known building solutions we offer.

We pride ourselves on being problem solvers.

Have a budget number that needs to be met? We can value engineer a solution.

Have a facility need that is a bit out of the ordinary? Our engineering staff can supply 10% drawings and a scope of work at no cost.

Have a contracting dilemma? We understand the complexity of your job and can offer a variety of contracting vehicles including GSA.

Look for our first in the series, Range Towers, a hot commodity for Army and National Guard training sites.

Celebrate No Brainer Day!

Sunday, February 27 is No Brainer Day. http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/February/nobrainerday.htm

What better way to celebrate than by taking a good look at K-Con as your builder of choice. K-Con has been in business since 1984 and has distinguished itself as a design build contractor with solutions for federal and military customers. We problem solve for our customers by providing building solutions and contracting vehicle solutions so you can take a break from all of those tough cranial decisions. K-Con is a small business with a GSA contract, and also has 8a and SDVOSB teaming arrangements. Our repertoire includes pre-engineered metal buildings, retrofit roofing, range towers, ballistic rated guard booths, timber frame buildings, conventional construction, interior and exterior panelized buildings, mezzanines, and bridge cranes. K-Con has done work in all 50 states except four - c'mon DE, ID, NH and VT - we want to work with you, too!

Metal Buildings and fall protection

K-Con is a safety first company and that means going that extra mile to ensure that all employees and subcontractors working on the jobsite are protected. When buildings have a high eave height, it is important to protect the roof installers. This is done by installing fall prevention material on top of the purlins. Fall Protection costs extra in both labor and material and is often not listed in specification documents, though it is recommended for buildings 20’ or higher. For high eave buildings, K-Con often uses a product Purlin Glide FP ™ as leading edge fall protection and this product acts as a passive safety device for those working on the roof. This product is used in conjunction with insulation support systems. There are more aggressive fall protection products available that look similar to bird netting and these products are also installed over the purlins.
