Have Materials, Will Travel

Materials typically reach a job site by truck or plane. Materials arrived a little differently for this Fish & Wildlife Service/K-Con project in Alaska. Look closely at the photos of the barge, and you’ll see each barge was carefully loaded with everything from construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and crates, to palettes of wood, among other things. These photos were taken leaving Seattle for the trip to Bethel, Alaska. Once they reach Bethel, materials will be offloaded onto a smaller barge for transport up the river to McGrath, Alaska. McGrath is a remote town with only the river and an airstrip for access. The materials are needed for a FWS hanger project to shelter small aircraft.

If you need a design/build solution for your remote location project, consider K-Con. We are experienced in handling projects in remote locations and will do whatever it takes to complete your project affordably and efficiently. Contact us to discuss your project needs!
