Thanksgiving With CYDC Looks Different This Year
K-Con’s annual tradition of preparing and serving a Thanksgiving meal for the Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC) in North Charleston has been put on pause due to COVID-19. We are deeply saddened that we cannot celebrate in person this year, but are looking forward to returning bigger and better than ever in 2021.
“This year’s a little different all thanks to COVID-19,” says K-Con president, Pat Kiernan. “Unfortunately, we will not be able to prepare and share a meal and great times at the CYDC Campus like we’ve done for the past 20 years… Instead we’ll be preparing our ‘Home Cooked’ meals Wednesday before Thanksgiving and then delivering them to kids and staff at CYDC. We hope you’ll join us in wishing the kids, staff and everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving this year.”
CYDC provides services and support for children who have experienced trauma in our community and are in need of a safe, stable place to call home. We are fundraising to support CYDC this holiday season, including a raffle for some awesome prizes, and we’d love for you to participate. Check out our Givesmart site for more info.
If you haven’t yet visited the CYDC website, we encourage you to do so and see the wonderful things they are doing! Please consider making a gift to CYDC this year. $35 can feed a child for a week. Learn more about CYDC.
